Fear Imposes Limitations In Network Marketing Success
Fear is a feeling which most of us has experienced at one time or another in our lives. Whether it stems from reality such as a burning building or from a self imposed apprehension like public speaking, but both kinds are perceived as real. Obviously, a burning building would invoke panic in almost all us, but public speaking would only elicit terror in a small percentage of the population. Self imposed fear limits our ability to full fill our dreams and desires and has no place in our existence or our network marketing business.
For example, when calling a potential prospect, how many times have you looked for something else to do? Anything from sharpening pencils to reading a self help book will keep you off the phone and away from the fear of rejection. Successful entrepreneurs realize their trepidations early on and find a means to overcome them. But for the majority of the population, apprehension will control their lives.
I have met many intelligent business minded professionals in my office. I have often asked them why they did not start a business instead of working for someone else. I could read the unhappiness in their demeanor but fear kept them from being successful and prosperous. All of them had several excuses about why they could not establish their own business or company. Again, the fear factor comes in to play in the form of failure.
Why are so many people afraid of failure? Does it stem back to childhood because of the possibility of disappointing our parents? I do believe fear is cultivated at a very early age because of what I have observed in my office alone. I have seen many overprotective parents when it comes to their “little Johnny”. The parents themselves have conditioned the children to be afraid of water, dogs, climbing, etc. because of the risk of becoming injured. I admit that I have raised my children without the concept of fear. Sure they realize there are dangers to stray dogs, swimming alone and so on, but it does not stop them from any feat they choose to achieve. My children know there are rules which must be followed to ensure their safety. My kids have done more than most adults would ever consider, but I can be assured they will not let anything stand in their way when it comes to their success or desires.
Network marketing is a wonderful opportunity for anyone to attain satisfaction in self worth and accomplishment. Nevertheless, it is not a good career choice for one who can not conquer fear.
Why Would You Quit Network Marketing?
Are you considering quitting network marketing? The competition is fierce and you are not finding any business minded prospects for your wonderful opportunity. Your friends and family all think you are involved in some pyramid scheme without a remote chance of success. The leads you have obtained are worthless and just keep hanging up on you when you call. The cost of advertising has put you in debt to where you are having sleepless nights. Does all of this sound familiar? Even though there are many drawbacks to the path you have chosen, you can succeed in this career choice if you follow some important advice.
First of all, who cares what your friends and family think? At least you have the determination and drive to give yourself the potential of a magnificent lucrative occupation. The people who choose to criticize are either ignorant of mlm or so unhappy with their own life that demeaning you is the only way to feel better about their self worth. Stay away from these kind of influences and surround yourself with other entrepreneurial minded people like yourself who have an extreme desire for success.
Next, make sure when you find your perfect network marketing opportunity, you join under a true leader. This is a crucial point and with the wrong leader, you are doomed from the beginning. A great leader will take you by the hand and show you step by step and help you achieve your goals. A self serving chief will not even acknowledge you as a part of his team and your only contact will be after your initial joining. Beware of distributors with this kind of attitude. Before joining, take a few minutes and call the person whose company you would like to join and follow your gut instincts. I have learned over the years that a “bad feeling” about someone is usually accurate.
Last but not least, you must find the right mlm training system. In order to be really triumphant, a duplicatable system must be in place for your impending downline. This was my personal final lesson I had to learn. The training with the right system is priceless and will speed up your learning curve. Be diligent and follow their advice to the letter. After all, these network marketers are seven figure earners and obviously know the right blueprint to use for ultimate achievement.
The next time you have the urge to quit your dream of being a successful marketer, remember there is nothing in this world you can not accomplish with the right attitude and hard work. Besides, you can always weigh the alternatives. Behind curtain #1 is unemployment at an all time high and rising, no family vacations, no nice cars, no nice home, daycare for the children and a high pressure boss in a job you hate. Behind curtain #2 is luxury vacations, cool cars, working from home, nice home and the personal satisfaction of giving your family the life they deserve.
First-Rate Network Marketing Systems Do Not Fail-People Fail
Before I usually buy something on the internet, I always look up the latest review on the particular product or service. It astounds me how so many people holler scam when purchasing or joining a business opportunity. Do most people understand the concept of network marketing or direct sales? Obviously not, by the amount of fraud allegations and now the new FTC laws requiring advertising.
Half the consumers who buy a product or service having to do with making money online are expecting miracles overnight and by doing absolutely nothing to achieve this windfall. Almost all of the other half will maybe stick with the program for a week or two, and then never utilize it again. I come across this insane mentality when building my own business. Even with a step by step blueprint, people will not follow through with any effort on their part.
I remember back when starting my chiropractic practice. I was already ninety thousand in debt when I graduated. I bought a building in a town of 1500(and there went another fifty thousand), but I then needed a line of credit for opening my office and remodeling (another thirty thousand). The bank would not loan me the money. I was not deterred and I went to my parents. They had no money except the equity in their house. I asked them if they trusted me enough to cosign a note with their equity and they did. Did I have any doubt that I would be successful? Not a one! I had my husband, kids and parents all depending on me and I knew I would not let them down. By the end of the second year, my line of credit was paid in full and my parents had their house back free and clear. By the end of the fourth year I no longer needed to advertise because word of mouth was all I needed. I admit, I wish I would have had a blueprint to follow when starting my office, but perseverance and confidence can overcome any obstacles. So why are people so indecisive when they are asked to start a business for a few hundred dollars? Do they not realize network marketing is one of the most inexpensive businesses out there today?
Why does network marketing have such a high failure rate? People do not have the confidence or the drive to succeed. They would rather live off of welfare, family or friends before ever considering starting their own business. Do you know what excuse I hear the majority of the time when my patients complain about being broke and I tell them they ought to start their own business? ”I don’t want the headaches” Now what kind of statement is that? Why don’t they just tell me the truth and tell me they are terrified and not willing to commit to the work involved?
I use a first rate network marketing system and I can not fathom how network marketers can fail when every step is laid out in black and white. A business takes time to build and having a network marketing system can now speed up the process of starting a home business, but it can not happen overnight. Wanna be network marketers should learn this lesson from the beginning and save themselves and their leaders a lot of time and frustration.
