PostHeaderIcon Should You Pay For Social BookMarking?

I remember the days just starting out with seo promotion and optimization. The term “link building” was a foreign word in my dictionary. Various forms of link building included social bookmarking. I was overwhelmed with the thought of having to manually submit my urls to each and every bookmarking site. Not only the submission process, but the registration process in itself was a time consuming nightmare. So I came to the conclusion, I needed to pay someone to do this for me for the sake of my sanity.

I started out by picking random companies which made them selves seem like the very best with this type of promotion. I waited for a few months and nothing happened. I kept checking my Google and yahoo webmaster accounts for any indication this was working. I double checked the urls which were sent with the reports and my link was there, but why wasn’t I gaining any back links?

Next, I downloaded a free back link checking tool. I would keep track of my existing back links then pick a different company and pay to have my urls submitted again. I waited a few months and nothing! By this time I was feeling frustrated and ripped off for the money I had paid these companies. I decided to complete this dreaded task my self for experimentation sake.

The registration process was slow and tedious, but I stuck with it until I had completed a fair amount of sites. The trick was to remember all the passwords, usernames and the particular sites I had already registered with. Once this was done, I started the process of submission. Wow, my links started to show up fairly quickly and I was ecstatic that my tedious task was well worth the effort. I kept this going for a few weeks until I realized I was not getting other important jobs done concerning my mlm business. I know paying someone is something I would never do again, but what other option was left?

You probably guessed the direction I headed. I immediately began searching for submission software for social bookmarking. I did not want a software in which spamming was the platform. I deliver informative content that benefits the readers and I just needed a faster way to distribute it. I wanted software on automation and would perform deep linking. After many software trials and refunds, I did find software that I use on a daily basis and the support has been second to none.

My experience with the chore of social book marking did not start out very well and I wish someone would have taken the time to share their knowledge with me. I would not have wasted precious time or money. Granted, I am sure there are some great companies out there that I never utilized, but all the ones I found scored a big zero in my book. I know the name of the game is to outsource, but you have to be very careful on whom you hire or the lesson learned will be painful.

PostHeaderIcon Learning About Backlinks and Their Importance to Traffic

Backlinks are referred to as inbound links or incoming links to a website or web page.  They are used to gauge the page ranking or traffic generated by a website.  In addition, they also influence SEO elements and factors.  As backlinks are looked up or accessed in search engines, owners of websites are able to track the number of pages their backlinks are redirected to their sites.

Backlinks are very important as they are associated with how prominent search engines operate including Yahoo, MSN, and Google.  These search engines consider the number of in bound links in their search results ranking algorithm.  This means that the more incoming connections one has, the higher the possibility of one’s website ranking in the relevant keyword search.  Search engines perceive links differently.  Say, for Yahoo, the search engine chooses to present all in bound relations of a particular website.  Even though Yahoo presents a number of relevant links, it does not consider incoming associations important as much as Google does.  In the same manner, MSN displays all links although it also does not give high regard to them.  If you want to discern how backlinks affect the algorithm of prominent search engines, conduct a self test on the number of link relationships your website has.  More often than not, you would notice that Yahoo and MSN display more significant links as compared to Google.

You can obtain in bound associations in different ways.  One can use e-books wherein you include hyperlinks that lead readers back to the intended capture page.  As your e-books are accessed frequently, the exposure of your backlinks increases.

Another way of obtaining backlinks is through submitting comments with the URL of your website as signature.  You can participate in high-traffic blog sites, which can also provide you with considerable reciprocal associations.  It is a fact that high-traffic blogs are indexed more often specifically in Google as compared to low-traffic blogs.  As such, leaving comments on high-traffic blog sites allows indexing of the links.

One can also submit the URL of their site with their articles, which can be submitted in a number of prominent article directories available on the Web.  You can create as much as 50 one way connections through article directories.  As readers get interested in your articles, it is highly probable that they would post your reciprocal link on their blogs.  Thus, it would provide additional traffic for your website.  Implementing at least two of these methods can lead you to obtaining an increase in traffic to the websit
